This baffle is compatible only with poles and staffs that come apart. The baffle itself is one solid piece and cannot be attached to a fixed staff.

Tip
To keep squirrels and raccoons from getting onto your bird feeder, place your feeders 8-10' away from railings, roofs or trees. Baffles should stand at least 4' from the ground.

Welding that holds entire baffle together is exceedingly poor quality. Ordered two, one had all three weld points broken, the other has one of three broken. This puts me in the position of having an item guaranteed to fail LONG BEFORE the metal is no longer useful.
I have two of these squirrel baffles on two feeders and they both work great. I have seen many squirrel try to get up past these baffles and not a one has succeeded.
My order was shipped fast and I received it a few days earlier than expected. I put it on my feeding station and haven’t had a squirrel on it. While they used to climb right up the pole which scared the birds off and aggravated me, now they have to hang out around the bottom of the pole and eat whatever the birds knock out of the feeders. I bought one of these several weeks ago to try it out. I liked it so much that I ordered a second one.

Sturdy, solid, and works as designed! They were just raccoon tested and passed with flying colors!
