Starling Proof Feeder

The feeder does what it says. To my knowledge, no starlings have even attempted the feeder. I thought at first small birds would not be able to get in either. However, that was not the case. I haven't gotten a lot of small birds to go in so far. This is probably because they need time to get used to the feeder being there. The suet cage in the middle could be a little narrower. I have to wedge something in between two suet cakes so that they stand upright against the edges of the cage. When the color choice included copper tint, I thought that it was going to be metal. Turns out the top and bottom are plastic. It seemed a little pricey for a feeder that has plastic parts.

No worth it

Received item. Not as described/shown in advertisements (no cylinder provided). No guidance on use of shaft to hold food.
Placed pillar of food in it. Not one bird has used it in over 2 weeks.

bluebirds and chicadees love it

I does keep starlings away from the main food. the still hang on outside to get food scattered by blue birds. It works well and is easy to fill. could use a bigger dish for food that doesn't need to be refilled so often.

Excellent feeder. Definitely keeps the undesirable birds out. The chickadees and downy woodpeckers visit often! Quality build!
